Field status conflict prevents posting

An FI document cannot be posted because a field is required in one control and suppressed or not allowed in another.

Likely root causes

  1. The posting key and G/L field-status group define incompatible settings.
  2. A required account assignment is hidden by the field-status configuration.
  3. A substitution or interface populates a field that the target account suppresses.

What to inspect

  1. Posting key field status.
  2. G/L account field-status group in FS00.
  3. The exact field named by the error and any substitution/interface logic populating it.

Resolution path

  1. Determine which control should govern the field for the business process.
  2. Align the posting key/G/L field-status settings through FI configuration governance.
  3. Correct the interface or substitution if it sends a suppressed field.
  4. Retest representative postings before transporting changes.
