IDoc control record has invalid partner data

IDoc is rejected before application posting because partner number/type/function in the control record is inconsistent with receiver configuration.

Likely root causes

  1. Sender populated the wrong SNDPRN/RCVPRN or partner type.
  2. Middleware transformed logical-system/vendor/customer identifiers incorrectly.
  3. Partner profile exists for a different partner function or message combination.

What to inspect

  1. EDIDC/control record sender and receiver fields.
  2. WE20 profiles for sender/receiver partner types.
  3. Middleware partner mapping and logical-system names.

Resolution path

  1. Correct partner mapping at the source/middleware when the control record is wrong.
  2. Align partner profiles only if the integration design requires that partner.
  3. Avoid editing individual productive IDocs as the long-term solution.
  4. Recreate/reprocess after mapping is corrected.
