IDoc port is not defined or invalid

Outbound IDoc dispatch fails because the control record/partner profile refers to a missing or invalid port.

Likely root causes

  1. WE21 port was not created or transported in the target system.
  2. Partner profile references the wrong port.
  3. RFC/file/XML port configuration points to an invalid destination/path.

What to inspect

  1. WE02 control record port and status text.
  2. WE20 outbound parameter assigned port.
  3. WE21 port definition and linked RFC/file settings.
  4. SM59 when the port uses RFC.

Resolution path

  1. Assign/create the intended port through integration configuration.
  2. Correct the linked RFC/file destination if the port exists but is invalid.
  3. Avoid changing control records manually as a permanent fix.
  4. Redispatch/reprocess after connectivity and port configuration are validated.
