Likely root causes

  1. The material has not been extended to the plant used in the document.
  2. The wrong plant was entered or derived for the item.
  3. Required plant-specific material views were never created for this material.

What to inspect

  1. MM03 — check whether the material can be displayed for the exact plant.
  2. ME21N item data — confirm the plant on the failing item.
  3. MM01/MM02 — verify the required plant-specific views and organizational levels.

Resolution path

  1. Confirm that the plant on the document is the intended plant.
  2. If the plant is correct, extend the material to that plant with the required views using the approved master-data process.
  3. Complete any mandatory plant-level data before saving.
  4. Retest the original document after master data is available.
