M7 055

G/L account does not exist in company code

MIGO, MB1C or another goods movement fails because the determined G/L account has not been created for the posting company code.

Likely root causes

  1. The account exists in the chart of accounts but not at company-code level.
  2. Automatic account determination points to a G/L account that was never extended to this company code.
  3. The posting is using an unexpected company code or valuation area.

What to inspect

  1. Read the full M7 055 message for the G/L account and company code.
  2. FS00 — verify the G/L account exists for the company code.
  3. OBYC — check the transaction key and account determination that selected the account.
  4. Confirm the plant/valuation area maps to the intended company code.

Resolution path

  1. Do not create an account only to bypass the error. Confirm the intended account with Finance.
  2. If the account is correct, extend/create it for the company code through the approved FI master-data process.
  3. If account determination is wrong, correct OBYC or the underlying valuation/account-assignment data.
  4. Retest the goods movement and verify the expected accounting document.
