Goods movement or purchasing fails because the entered storage location does not exist under the selected plant.

Likely root causes

  1. Wrong storage location or plant was entered.
  2. The storage location exists under another plant only.
  3. A new location was not transported/created in the target system.

What to inspect

  1. Plant and storage location in the document.
  2. Enterprise-structure storage-location definition.
  3. Interface/user-default mapping of plant and storage location.

Resolution path

  1. Correct the plant/location if the document is wrong.
  2. Create the storage location only if it is a valid organizational requirement.
  3. Fix mapping/defaults that use a location from another plant.
  4. Retest inventory posting and stock visibility.
