Likely root causes

  1. Split valuation is active but no valuation type was entered/determined.
  2. The valuation type does not exist for the material/valuation category.
  3. Stock exists under a different valuation type.

What to inspect

  1. MM03 accounting view — valuation category and valuation types.
  2. Valuation type on the PO/MIGO item.
  3. Stock by valuation type and plant.

Resolution path

  1. Use the correct valuation type for the stock/business event.
  2. Create/extend valuation data only through approved material-master governance.
  3. Correct source/interface derivation if it sends the wrong valuation type.
  4. Retest both quantity and value postings.
