qRFC queue stopped in SYSFAIL

SMQ1 or SMQ2 shows a queue in SYSFAIL and processing stops at the first failing LUW.

Likely root causes

  1. The target application raised a serious application or ABAP error while processing the first LUW.
  2. A short dump occurred in the target system.
  3. Application data or customizing is inconsistent for the queued call.

What to inspect

  1. Double-click the SYSFAIL entry in SMQ1/SMQ2 and read the error text.
  2. ST22 in the target system at the same timestamp.
  3. Application log (SLG1) when the called application writes one.
  4. The function module and business object in the first LUW.

Resolution path

  1. Fix the underlying application/customizing/data error first.
  2. Confirm the failed LUW can be safely retried.
  3. Restart the queue only after the root cause is corrected.
  4. Do not delete the queue as a shortcut; doing so can lose ordered transactional work.
