Spool request could not be generated

Print/output processing fails because SAP cannot create or complete a spool request.

Likely root causes

  1. Output device or access method is invalid/unavailable.
  2. Spool work process or TemSe storage has a problem.
  3. Form/output data causes processing failure before spool creation completes.

What to inspect

  1. SP01/SP02 request status and error details.
  2. SPAD output-device configuration.
  3. SM50/SM66 spool work process availability.
  4. ST22/SM21 for spool or TemSe errors.

Resolution path

  1. Correct the device/access-method issue or restore the spool service.
  2. Resolve TemSe/system errors before retrying large volumes.
  3. Fix form/application errors if spool infrastructure is healthy.
  4. Generate a controlled test spool and confirm printing/output end to end.
