Sales-order processing cannot create a usable schedule line because schedule-line category determination fails.

Likely root causes

  1. No determination entry exists for item category and MRP type.
  2. Material MRP type is missing or unexpected.
  3. The item category/process is configured for a schedule-line behavior that does not match the material.

What to inspect

  1. Sales-order item category.
  2. Material MRP type in the plant.
  3. Schedule-line category determination customizing.

Resolution path

  1. Confirm the material plant/MRP data and item category are correct.
  2. Maintain the intended determination entry through SD configuration governance.
  3. Avoid assigning an arbitrary schedule-line category because it controls requirements, movement type and delivery relevance.
  4. Retest ATP and delivery creation.
