SAP Fresher Salary in India 2026: Module-Wise Breakdown
Entry-level SAP pay in India is not one number. It moves with the module, the type of employer, whether the candidate brings a business domain with them, and how well they can reason about a real system problem in an interview. The ranges below are stated in INR lakhs per annum (LPA) as a fixed cost-to-company band for candidates with zero to twelve months of SAP experience, and they describe the offers that are commonly made in 2026 — not the outliers that get posted on social media. Read them as bands, not promises: two freshers in the same module with the same degree routinely land at opposite ends of the same range.

SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 3.5 – 6.0 LPA · 4.5 – 7.0 LPA in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad
SD is the most common entry point for functional freshers because order-to-cash exists in every implementation and support project. Starting packages typically land between 3.5 and 6.0 LPA, with the upper end reserved for candidates who can explain pricing procedure determination, delivery and billing document flow, and a real credit-block scenario without reading from notes. Freshers hired into pure support desks usually start closer to the floor of that band and move up after the first appraisal.
SAP MM (Materials Management) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 3.5 – 6.0 LPA · 4.5 – 7.0 LPA in metro delivery centres
MM tracks SD closely on money because procure-to-pay support demand is similarly broad. What separates a 4 LPA offer from a 6 LPA offer here is usually GR/IR handling: candidates who can walk through a goods-receipt-to-invoice mismatch, explain the clearing account behaviour and say what they would check first are treated as low-risk hires. Purchase requisition release strategy and account determination are the other two topics that reliably appear.
SAP FICO (Finance & Controlling) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 4.0 – 7.0 LPA · 5.0 – 8.0 LPA with a commerce or CA-inter background
FICO pays a premium at fresher level when the candidate already has an accounting qualification, because the domain half of the job is not something an employer can teach quickly. Without a finance background, expect the same 3.5 – 5.5 LPA band as other functional modules. With B.Com plus CA-inter or an MBA in finance, 6 – 8 LPA fresher offers are realistic. Period-end close, GL/AP/AR postings and cost centre accounting dominate the interview.
SAP ABAP (Technical Development) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 4.0 – 8.0 LPA · 6.0 – 10.0 LPA for RAP/CDS-capable freshers
ABAP has the widest fresher band of any SAP skill in India because it is the one track where a candidate can demonstrate ability in code rather than in vocabulary. A conventional classical-report ABAP fresher sits at 4 – 6 LPA. A fresher who can write CDS views, understand OData exposure and has touched the RAP model moves into 7 – 10 LPA territory, particularly at product companies and S/4HANA greenfield partners. Debugging ability — reading a short dump and reasoning to a root cause — is the single most valued interview skill.
SAP BASIS (Administration) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 3.5 – 6.5 LPA · 5.0 – 8.0 LPA with HANA DB administration exposure
BASIS fresher hiring is thinner in volume but stickier in tenure, and the shift work premium is real: freshers on rotating support shifts often earn 15 – 20% above the day-shift equivalent. Transport management, system refresh, user administration and basic HANA housekeeping are the expected baseline. Candidates who can talk through a performance triage — work process saturation, lock waits, expensive statements — outperform the band.
SAP HCM / SuccessFactors (Human Capital) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 3.0 – 5.5 LPA · 4.5 – 7.0 LPA for SuccessFactors-certified freshers
Classic HCM fresher demand in India is declining as customers move to SuccessFactors, and pay reflects that: on-premise-only PA/OM candidates cluster at the bottom of the band. Freshers with an Employee Central or Recruiting certification see materially better offers, because partners need certified headcount to staff cloud projects. Payroll schema and Indian statutory compliance knowledge remains a genuine differentiator.
SAP PP (Production Planning) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 3.5 – 6.0 LPA · 5.0 – 7.5 LPA in manufacturing-heavy hubs
PP rewards prior manufacturing exposure more than any other functional module. Mechanical or production engineering graduates who understand BOM, routing, work centre capacity and an actual shop-floor confirmation flow are hired above the band, especially by automotive and pharma customers around Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad. Without domain exposure, PP fresher offers look like SD/MM offers.
SAP QM (Quality Management) fresher salary in India
Typical fresher band: 3.0 – 5.5 LPA · 4.5 – 6.5 LPA in pharma and medical devices
QM is the smallest of the eight in fresher hiring volume, and it is almost never a standalone first role — it is usually staffed as QM plus PP or QM plus MM. That combination is exactly why the ceiling is higher than the headline range suggests: a fresher who can handle inspection lot creation, usage decisions and a batch-related quality notification alongside a second module becomes hard to replace on a regulated-industry project.
What actually moves an SAP fresher offer
Employer type moves the number more than the module
The same SD fresher gets roughly 3.5 – 4.5 LPA at a mass-hiring service company, 5 – 7 LPA at a mid-size SAP implementation partner, and 8 LPA or more at a product company or a captive GCC. Choosing where to apply changes the outcome more than choosing which module to learn.
Certification helps at entry and stops helping after that
An associate-level SAP certification typically adds 0.5 – 1.5 LPA to a fresher offer, mainly because partners must report certified headcount. By the third year it is worth close to nothing compared with delivered project work.
Prior domain experience is the biggest single lever
A candidate with two years in accounts payable entering FICO, or two years in stores entering MM, is not treated as a fresher at all. That is usually a 2 – 3 LPA jump over the fresh-graduate band for the same module.
Location premium is smaller than people expect
Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad pay roughly 15 – 25% above tier-two cities for the same fresher role — real, but often absorbed by rent. Remote support roles have narrowed the gap further since 2024.
How to land the upper end of your module's band
Every band above has the same shape: the floor is paid for knowing the terminology, and the ceiling is paid for being able to diagnose. Interviewers separate the two with scenario questions — a document that will not post, an interface that stopped, a job that ran for six hours — and they are listening for a debugging path, not a definition. The fastest way to move from the floor to the ceiling of your module is to practise those scenarios out loud until the reasoning is automatic.
