Background Job Failure Analyzer
Paste the failing step's SM37 log to find supported error patterns and the next checks to make. Separate the reported job state from the likely investigation path, and prepare a ticket with evidence. No SAP connection or AI call is made.

Start with the step, not just the cancellation
In SM37, open the job log and step details for one job name/count. Record its timestamp, program, variant and execution user. Copy the relevant error and nearby lines. Correlate runtime failures with ST22 and application messages with SLG1 where the program supplies an application log.
READY means the job is waiting for a background work process; ACTIVE alone does not prove a hang. A canceled job may have committed work in earlier steps or packages. FINISHED confirms step completion, but business reconciliation and output checks are still needed.
Choose a restart point with the owner
Compare the attempt with the last successful run. Resolve the verified cause and reconcile existing documents, files and completed packages before repeating a job. Use the application's documented restart procedure rather than assuming the entire run was rolled back.

These are rule-based checks for standard SAP background processing. They cannot inspect your system or prove that a rerun is safe. Confirm release-specific behavior and application restart procedures with the owner. ERPClimb is independent of SAP SE.
