S/4HANA Migration Decision Simulator
Most S/4HANA conversion damage comes from second-order effects — code that still compiles but no longer performs, and master data that blocks the conversion itself. Commit to an answer on each decision, then see what that choice costs.
The custom aging report that passes testing and dies at month-end
A discrete manufacturer is doing a brownfield conversion from ECC 6.0 EHP7 to S/4HANA, targeting go-live in Q3. Their AR team runs a custom receivables aging report every morning — a Z-program written in 2011 that selects directly from BSID and BSAD, loops the results, and builds an ALV. It is the first thing the AR manager opens each day and she has said, on record, that she will not sign off UAT without it. Your technical lead reports that the program compiles fine after conversion and returns correct data in the sandbox.
The program works in the converted sandbox. What do you do before go-live?
