India E-Invoice JSON Validator

When the IRP rejects an e-invoice, the error code tells you what failed but not which field in your billing document caused it. Paste the JSON your system sent — from the e-document cockpit, the GSP log or the payload of a failed call — and this page checks the structure, the GSTINs, the tax split and every total, and says which source data to fix. The JSON is checked in your browser and never uploaded.

Paste the e-invoice JSON

What the pre-check covers

Structure. The six mandatory blocks, the supply type (B2B, SEZWP, SEZWOP, EXPWP, EXPWOP, DEXP), the document type (INV, CRN, DBN), a document number of at most 16 characters that does not start with 0, “/” or “-”, and a real date in dd/mm/yyyy that is not in the future.

Parties. GSTIN format and check digit for seller and buyer (URP for exports), state code against the GSTIN, six-digit PIN codes, and a two-digit place of supply.

Tax. When the seller’s state equals the place of supply, tax should be CGST plus SGST; otherwise, and for SEZ and exports, IGST. Amounts are recomputed from the assessable value and the rate.

Totals. Quantity times unit price, assessable amount, item value, and every invoice total against the sum of the items, within the one-rupee tolerance the portal allows.

Fix the source, not the JSON

Editing the JSON by hand gets one invoice through and leaves the next one to fail the same way. A wrong GSTIN belongs on the customer or business place master; a wrong tax split usually means the region on an address or the tax code in the pricing; a total mismatch usually means a condition mapped twice, or a rounding condition the mapping ignores. Fix it there, then re-trigger the e-invoice from the cockpit.

For tax conditions that were not found during pricing, use the pricing analysis decoder. To compare an export of invoices against what the portal accepted, the export reconciliation workbench matches the two files by document number.

This is an unofficial pre-check against IRP schema 1.1. The portal’s own validation is authoritative and the schema and rules change; it also checks things this page cannot, such as whether a GSTIN is active. Do not paste production data you are not allowed to share outside your organisation — although nothing leaves your browser.
